SOWBUDDIES SA TOY COLLECTION DRIVE The importance of giving children the opportunity to play with toys cannot be overstated. In fact, the role of play in contributing to a child’s development and well-being is so critical that the Sowbuddies SA has recognized it as the right of every child on the planet. Unfortunately, many children are deprived of this right as the result of violent conflict, natural disasters, or poverty.   Toy donations brings happiness to other kids and gives them support. Children need the fun time as a distraction and they can also learn and develop more, using the imagination and creativity.

HAPPY WOMEN'S MONTH

National Women's Day is a South African public holiday celebrated annually on 9 August. The day commemorates the 1956 march of approximately 20,000 women to the Union Buildings in Pretoria to petition against the country's pass laws that required South Africans defined as "black" under The Population Registration Act to carry an internal passport, known as a passbook, that served to maintain population segregation, control urbanisation, and manage migrant labour during the apartheid era.[1] The first National Women's Day was celebrated on 9 August 1995.[2] In 2006, a reenactment of the march was staged for its 50th anniversary, with many of the 1956 march veterans. Women’s Month allows us to gauge how far we have come in transforming society, particularly the tr ansformation of unequal power relations between women and men. While also focusing on and addressing gender oppression, patriarchy, sexism, racism, ageism, structural oppression, and creating a conducive environment which enables women to take control of their lives.
